Webster Information for the week of May 11, 2020

Good evening Webster families,
This is Mrs. Forrest.

Happy Mother's Day to all of our beautiful Webster Moms! You are so very appreciated.

This week we continue with remote learning. Students should be connecting with teachers via Google Meet during the week, and students should be access lessons and school work through PowerSchool Learning pages. Please reach out to teachers if you have any questions or concerns.

We will be celebrating our 5th graders with a virtual promotion on May 27th. We are including a slide show. 5th graders will be creating a slide of their own and including a short video. Parents of 5th graders, please email me right away if you do not want your child's picture to be included in the virtual promotion.

Our May SSC meeting will be held on May 14th through Google Meet. We will be voting on a open parent position. Please email Mrs. Forrest at forrest.kristin@pusd.us if you are interested in becoming a member of Webster's School Site Council or if you would like to nominate a parent.

School Site Council is composed of equal numbers of staff and parent representatives who serve a two-year term. They meet eight times a year to oversee the implementation of various programs in the school, including state and federally-funded programs. The School Site Council is a governing body that is responsible for deciding how to spend approximately $110,000 of categorical money to improve the instructional program here at Webster Elementary. Each school in the district receives a different amount of money, based on enrollment. The School Site Council members work together to set goals, for improving student achievement at the school and allocating the funds to accomplish those goals.

Have a great week!
