Good Evening Sierra Madre Parents & Students, this is Mr. Newsom with some important information about the upcoming week at our middle school.

PTSA Winter Festival Door Decorating Contest
Throughout this week our PTSA is sponsoring a Winter Festival Door Decorating Contest to celebrate different cultures around the holiday season.  Each homeroom has selected a country to depict with a special prize going to the winning class.

COVID-19 At-Home Test Kits: Wednesday, December 21
This Wednesday during PE class, every SMMS student will receive an At-Home COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test Kit.

In order to provide for a safer return to school after the Winter Break, each student should take the test on the evening of January 8, 2023 or the morning of January 9, 2023 before returning to school.

If your student tests positive, please notify your school principal and healthprograms@pusd.us. Thank you for your help in keeping our school community healthy.

Musical Theatre and Drama Club Winter Holiday Program: Wednesday, December 21
This Wednesday evening at 6:30pm in our amphitheater our Musical Theatre and Drama Club will be presenting its Winter Holiday Program

Early Dismissal: Thursday, December 22
This Thursday afternoon we will be dismissing early at 1:00pm

First Day of Winter Vacation: Friday, December 23
There will be no school this Friday as it is the first day of our Winter Vacation.  Classes will resume on January 9, 2023.

Since this will be the final Sunday night call of 2022, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for all that you have done to contribute to the success of our students and our school throughout this amazing year.  I hope that you have a joyous holiday celebration with family and friends, and I look forward to what we will accomplish together in the new year.
