Sunday Night Call Week 9-18-22

Good Evening Sierra Madre Parents & Students, this is Mr. Newsom with some important information about the upcoming week at our middle school.

Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration: September 15 - October 15
Throughout this month we are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with weekly activities for students and staff to participate in.  This week, to celebrate the Hispanic tradition of Day of the Dead, we will be creating our own SMMS Ofrenda offering in the main office. Students are invited and encouraged to contribute to the Ofrenda by bringing pictures of loved ones and offerings for those they wish to commemorate.

Parent, Teacher, Student Association Meeting: Tuesday, September 20
This Tuesday night, our PTSA will be meeting at 6:00pm in our MPR.  Masks are required for this event.

Districtwide Professional Development Day: Friday, September 23
This Friday there will be no school so that employees districtwide may participate in valuable Professional Development opportunities.  Classes will resume on Monday, September 26.

Science Olympiad Meeting: Saturday, September 24
This Saturday there will be a Science Olympiad meeting for parents and students at 9:30am in our MPR. Masks are required for this event as well.
