Sunday Night Call Week of 8-23-21

Good Evening Sierra Madre Parents & Students, this is Mr. Newsom with some important information about the upcoming week at our middle school.

Daily Health Screenings
To ensure the safety of our students and staff, all members of our school community must conduct a Daily Health Screening before entering campus. To expedite this screening at the gate, you may conduct a self-screening at home by asking yourself the following questions:

  • Do I have a fever?
  • Do I have a cough?
  • Am I experiencing shortness of breath or difficulty breathing?
  • Am I experiencing any other symptoms?
  • Have I been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days?
  • In the last two weeks, have I been directed to quarantine, isolate or take a COVID-19 test?

If you answer yes to any of these questions, and/or you are feeling sick you need to stay home and contact our main office.  If you can’t speak to someone right away, please leave a message. We also recommend that you contact your medical provider.

Student Drop-Off/Pick-Up
We thank you as always for protecting the safety of our students during our Student Drop-Off & Pick-Up each day.  Please make certain to maintain an appropriate speed while navigating the flow of traffic and to be respectful of our neighbors at all times.  In addition, students must utilize our crossing guard when crossing Canon Ave.

Two valuable tools for parents to utilize in supporting their child are the Parent Portal and Parent Canvas Account.  For information on how to access the Parent Portal and how to create a Parent Canvas Account please visit our SMMS Parents page.
