Opportunity from Altadena Town Council

Opportunity from Altadena Town Council- After a year as a pilot program I am pleased to announce my internship program will now expand to the full Altadena Town Council Internship program.  This program will give local high school, middle school, and a few regional college students the opportunity to work directly with elected officials on community related projects.  Over the past year I was able to work with around 50 local students who logged over 400 community service hours.  Their work was solid and appreciated.  Many thanks to the students who took part and especially to the counselors, advisors, administrators and teachers who sent these volunteers my way.

I have plenty of more detailed projects ready to put students to work on.  They range from one day events to leadership roles that will continue throughout the schoolyear.  Please keep sending your students my way and I will happily put them to work.

They can reach me at Nic.Arnzen@AltadenaTownCouncil.org.  As mentioned, I have a number of leadership positions available including positions overseeing the Intern Program itself.  These are great opportunities to fill up resumes and work with local elected officials who will gladly write reference letters for jobs and college applications.

In the weeks to come I will frequently send you listings of upcoming and ongoing jobs/opportunities.  Please do me the favor of finding a way to get that info into student’s hands and if you have anyone that would like to be added to this email group have them reach out to me as well.  If you would like to be removed from this list please don’t hesitate to ask.

It’s going to be a great year and I’m excited to get our youth involved with community and local government.

Sincerely,

Councilmember Nic Arnzen
