AALT Application Closes: April 25, 2022
The CLBC Youth Leadership Programs seek to identify and help prepare the next generation to become community, business, governmental and non profit organizational leaders in the African-American community. The African-American Leaders for Tomorrow Program is for 9th and 10th grade students who are interested in an on-campus, immersion experience at the California State University at Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), in Los Angeles California. The 2022 African-American Leaders for Tomorrow Program takes place from July 20-23 at CSUDH. The primary goal of the CLBC Youth Leadership Programs is to "build a bench" of young leaders who will lead California in solving issues of protecting voter rights, increasing access to higher education and career training through dual enrollment, reducing poverty rates, increasing living-wage employment, participating in criminal justice evolution, increasing quality and equity in healthcare, and the reducing high infant mortality rates, in the lower-socioeconomic communities. Students will learn from professionals and enjoy a variety of workshops, social activities and will participate in civic engagement learning, including mock-legislative activities.
