Volunteer opportunity for the summer
My name is Phillip West and I am a Program Supervisor for AbilityFirst’s College to Career program.
AbilityFirst is a non-profit organization based in Pasadena that provides various types of support for individuals with disabilities, ranging from afterschool care and summer camps to community integration and employment services. I currently supervise a program based at Pasadena City College for college students with disabilities.
I know many high school seniors are typically looking for volunteer opportunities to fulfill their graduation requirements. I specifically remember spending the end of my senior year scrambling to find volunteer opportunities in the area. Since our organization provides numerous opportunities for individuals to gain volunteer hours, I was wondering the best way to approach notifying your school community of the opportunities we have within our organization.
If any students are interested in finding out more information, please encourage them to visit our website and apply:

We have an immediate opportunity this Saturday June 3rd. We will be hosting a car wash at our Lawrence L Frank Center in East Pasadena on the corner of Del Mar and Kinneloa. If any 2019 graduates are short on hours or if there are 2020 grads who would like to get a jump start on accumulating hours, we would love to host them this weekend.
Thanks for reading! And please let me know the best way to get this information to the PUSD community. Let me know if you have any questions.
Cheers,
Phillip West
