Anastacia Lagang, a budget analyst in the Finance Division, is the Pasadena Unified School District’s 2018 Classified Employee of the Year. Ana, as she is known, accepted the award at the District’s annual staff event held a few days before the students returned to school.
“Let us begin the 2018-19 school year with a positive and renewed attitude,” Ana said to the audience of teachers, administrators, facilities and craft workers, nurses, counselors, and district leaders in the audience. “Let us work hard side-by-side with teachers and management to fulfill our responsibilities wholeheartedly, with passion and accountability.”
Ana brings a high work ethic, a wealth of knowledge and experience, and a quietly effective approach to her work managing highly complex and specialized budgeting and fiscal programs in the District’s operating budget. She works with school and department leaders to develop and maintain budget expenditures and balances.
Ana joined PUSD in 1999 as an accounting technician. A proud PUSD parent, her son attended Jefferson Elementary and graduated from Marshall Fundamental as a valedictorian. He went on to earn a degree from Caltech.
