Congratulations to Ms. Melodee Ulmer!

Congratulations to Melodee Ulmer! Last week, Ms. Ulmer was honored as a Black Educator of theMelodee Ulmer Year by Pasadena Unified School District's African American Parent Council.

We could not think of a more deserving individual to receive this honor. Ms. Ulmer wears many hats on campus and shares her time and talent. She is our lead District Security Officer, our Black Student Union Advisor, one of our Athletic Directors, and is lovingly known by Bulldogs as "Mama Mel". She bridges differences between students and works tirelessly to support students at PHS. Ms. Ulmer also plays an instrumental role in making sure that our students are aware of opportunities to attend Historically Black Colleges and Universities. In addition to that, Ms. Ulmer works closely with student athletes on campus to ensure that they complete NCAA requirements and ultimately attend the college of their choice.

There is much more that can be said about all that Ms. Ulmer does for Pasadena High School. Simply put, the students, families, faculty, and staff at PHS are blessed to have her as part of our Bulldog family.

Congratulations, Ms. Ulmer.
