Because UCLA plays 2 home games in a row there would not be enough time to mend the field for their use if we play in between and player safety was a concern. In discussions between the Pasadena High School Bulldogs and John Muir High School Early College Magnet it was determined that it was more important for our students to play in the Rose Bowl than to maintain our traditional date at another venue. For all involved, including the football players and coaches, cheer squads, marching bands, journalism students, family and friends this may be the only time they would have an opportunity to experience this iconic venue.
There were many who worked behind the scenes so that our students could continue the tradition of playing in the Rose Bowl. We would like to thank the Rose Bowl Stadium team for working closely with us to ensure that the Turkey Tussle will be played in the Rose Bowl and to the City of Pasadena - Public Agency and the Rose Bowl again for being our partners in this iconic tradition!
We hope that all of you will come out and support our teams in their FIRST GAME. We are looking forward to our alumni and the community joining us for this start of the 2019 season.
