Model A Club

1928 Phaeton 1 1/2 years ago the Pasadena High School Model A Club (PHSMAC) was formed. Our club is the only Model A club based on a high school campus. Since then, Pasadena High School Bulldogs 9th - 12th grade students have not only been introduced to the Model A hobby, but also gained proficiency using power and hydraulic tools while restoring their first project car, a 1928 Phaeton.

The initial goal of our hard working sltudents was to transform a drab "old car" into an eye-catching Model A show car that a lucky raffle winner would be proud to display at any car show. Since no school funds are allocated to the club, the object of all their hard work was to raffle their first Model A to fund future projects.

In May 2018, our club sponsored a Motown Legends Concert as a school fundraiser. The concert's grand finale would see the 1928 Model A Ford Phaeton raffled off and find a new home.

Only 500 raffle tickets were sold in advance, so the chances to win the restored Phaeton were pretty good. Congratulations to the Phaeton's winner, Art Moore, and his wife, Olive, a member of the Santa Anita A's, who just happened to be in the audience. Art was extremely excited to say the least.

The Santa Anita A's are a nonprofit organization dedicated to the restoration, preservation and enjoyment of the Model A Ford. Group members educate the public about Model A’s as well as enjoying a wide range of fun activities. For more information on the Santa Anita A's go to

Our current Model A Club members are busy at work on their next restoration project - a 1929 Roadster to be raffled after completion in 2019.

PHSMAC appreciates your encouragement and support. To assist the club with their efforts, please send your tax-deductible contributions to PHSMAC, 1968 Lake St., Suite 101, Altadena CA 91001. To learn about our next raffle, join our email list at
