PHS Student Achieves Eagle Scout Rank

Thomas Eagle Rank Congratulations to Pasadena High School student Thomas Holmes '19 on receiving his Eagle Scout award. Eagle Scout is the highest rank attainable in the Scouting program of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Since 1912 more than two million Boy Scouts have earned the Eagle Scout rank.

Requirements include earning at least 21 merit badges. The Eagle Scout must demonstrate Scout Spirit, an ideal attitude based upon the Scout Oath and Law, service and leadership. This includes an extensive service project that the Scout plans, organizes, leads, and manages.

Thomas has been involved with Scouting for over 10 years and is a member of Boy Scout Troop 21. For his Eagle project he organized and led Troop 21 scouts in removing and replacing the plank seating in the East Quad at Pasadena High School with new, long lasting benches.  In addition to the scouts the crew of helpers included parent volunters and other Pasadena High School students.

Boy Scout Troop 21 has been in our community for over 60 years and has graduated over 140 scouts to the Eagle rank. The troop's first Eagle Scout was in 1959. Troop 21 offers a wide variety of activities, projects and adventures which allow the members to have a complete scouting Thomas group experience. Troop 21 meets at the First Church of the Nazarene of Pasadena on Monday evenings.  For additional information on Troop 21 please visit

Congratulations Thomas! We are very proud of your accomplishments!
