U.S. Forest Service Generation Green Environmental Club

WHO WE ARE: Generation Green is a Muir club sponsored by the U.S. Forest Service (USFS). Generation Green is part of the Southern California Consortium, a USFS outreach, education, and employment program that is committed to diversity and equity in the U.S. Forest Service and in America’s magnificent public lands.

WHAT WE DO: During the school year, Generation Green engages in a variety outdoor education, recreation, and service activities: hiking, camping, kayaking, ecological restoration, trail construction, leadership development, community service, mentoring, and career exploration. During the summer, Generation Green partners with the Los Angeles County Dept. of Parks & Recreation to offer a six-week PAID internship program called Careers in Conservation.

HOW TO JOIN: Students are welcome to join Generation Green at any time; we’re always excited to have new members! The club meets in Ms. Lake’s room (G-226) every Wednesday at lunch. Students are also invited to visit our office (A-183, next to Mr. Watter’s room) to learn more about the program from LizBeth Williams, the U.S. Forest Service coordinator for Generation Green. LizBeth can also be reached at lizbethgw@gmail.com or (626)710-7391
