We once again enjoyed hosting students from our sister school in Beijing, Beijing 161 High School. The students spent four nights with Blair families, and spent two school days experiencing Blair.
Our relationship with Beijing 161 started about 17 years ago, as part of Pasadena's sister city relationship with Beijing's Xicheng District. Each year students in 10th grade have the opportunity to travel to the United States, and while in Pasadena, they come to visit Blair. Beijing 161 has also generously hosted students and teachers from Blair to visit Beijing, and eight Blair staff are planning to visit during our spring break this year.
The 12 students and three teachers who visited this year participated in art, photography, English, science and culinary arts activities, and shadowed a Blair student for two afternoons.
Thank you to all the Blair staff and families who hosted students, Blair staff Frances Sanchez and Lloyd Dabasol for making arrangements, and Blair parent volunteers who served lunch and helped in other ways.
