At the 70th Annual Turkey Tussle halftime showcase, the Pasadena Unified School District honored and paid tribute to Austin M. Lacy of Pasadena High School on November 4th 2016.
Austin M. Lacy was an extraordinary student athlete who unpredictably passed away on June 3rd 2011, at the age of 17. Austin was a versatile Senior Football player who played a number of positions: linebacker, defensive end, and full back.
To honor and celebrate Austin’s life, his football jersey #16 will be framed and retired. The framed jersey will be presented to PHS and will proudly be mounted in the Austin M. Lacy PHS Weight Room. A large banner will also be attached to the weight room wall next to the framed retired jersey.
Additionally, this year’s Turkey Tussle MVP name and jersey number will be placed on the annual perpetual memorial football trophy, this trophy will be located in a place of honor at PHS. Austin lived by the powerful motto - “Not Easily Broken!”
