John Muir Pacific League Champion: Frosh/Soph Cross Country

Picture of Perry Bennett Congratulations to Perry Bennett, a sophomore from John Muir High School! He recently won the Frosh/Sophomore Cross Country (XC) as Pacific League Distance Champion. This years Pacific League Cross Country Finals were held at Crescenta Valley Community Park in the Los Angeles County.

Perry ran the 3 Mile Course in 17 minutes & 24 seconds. Perry’s best time for the season is 15:49 which is within the top 20 of Varsity XC. Perry explains, “I love the challenge of running and cutting down my times.” He credits his success to his parents and his coach Terry Jenkins.

Additionally, in preparation for distance running, nutrition plays a large role in his training. Nutrition is very important to him and he loves that his parents established this healthy lifestyle. This middle distance runner plans on running in the following categories: 3200, 1600, & 800 meters. Perry is currently enrolled in the Engineering Academy; his current GPA is a 3.4 and he is considering attending an eastern coast college or university after his graduation.
