  • New ways of teaching and learning in the future may require new learning spaces that are different from classrooms today.  Recognizing that our schools may need changes to accommodate new models of learning, serve the needs of families to the area, and ensure that our schools adhere to the latest safety standards, the Pasadena Unified School District has started a Facilities Master Plan process.

PUSD is developing a district-wide Facilities Master Plan to guide us in prioritizing improvements at our campuses. Please join us and share your vision for your campus.

  • Good evening Webster families,
    This is Mrs. Forrest.

Happy Mother's Day to all of our beautiful Webster Moms! You are so very appreciated.

This week we continue with remote learning. Students should be connecting with teachers via Google Meet during the week, and students should be access lessons and school work through PowerSchool Learning pages. Please reach out to teachers if you have any questions or concerns.

We will be celebrating our 5th graders with a virtual promotion on May 27th. We are including a slide show. 5th graders will be creating a slide of their own and including a short video. Parents of 5th graders, please email me right away if you do not want your child's picture to be included in the virtual promotion.

Our May SSC meeting will be held on May 14th through Google Meet. We will be voting on a open parent position. Please email Mrs. Forrest at forrest.kristin@pusd.us if you are interested in becoming a member of Webster's School Site Council or if you would like to nominate a parent.

School Site Council is composed of equal numbers of staff and parent representatives who serve a two-year term. They meet eight times a year to oversee the implementation of various programs in the school, including state and federally-funded programs. The School Site Council is a governing body that is responsible for deciding how to spend approximately $110,000 of categorical money to improve the instructional program here at Webster Elementary. Each school in the district receives a different amount of money, based on enrollment. The School Site Council members work together to set goals, for improving student achievement at the school and allocating the funds to accomplish those goals.

    Have a great week!

  • Webster families,
This is Mrs. Forrest with helpful information for the week of April 20th.

I hope you are all well. I have set up my dining room as my office and have been sharing it with Muffin, my cat and Holly, my dog.

My children are also home working on their college and high school classes. We have been watching classic movies as our weekend entertainment. Sidney Poitier movies was our theme this weekend. Can you guess the two movies we watched? I

I am happy to announce that a K-5 Visual & Performing Arts and GATE Enrichment class is now available on PowerSchool.

Have fun exploring the variety and depth of activities and resources on the Arts and Enrichment pages by grade level.

Band & Orchestra instrument specific lessons are housed under 4th and 5th grade.
New lessons and activities will be added weekly, so keep checking back!
GATE Enrichment activities are not necessarily grade level specific, but progress in challenge through the levels.
Theatre Arts lessons are coming soon!
Feel free to contact our arts specialists to share an "artful moment"!

  • This is Mrs. Forrest with Webster information for the week of March 23rd.

Based on recommendations from the L.A. County Office of Education, Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) schools will remain closed until May 5. PUSD has already taken steps in planning for this contingency, and is engaged in planning for the closure to be extended.

To prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and comply with the State’s “Stay Home” and Los Angeles County “Safer at Home” public health orders, the PUSD Educational Center offices are closed

As essential service providers, District and school staff will work remotely, except for identified employees, and continue serving the students and families of PUSD. Teachers and all other non-essential site personnel were released to work remotely earlier last week, in addition to those over 65 years of age and employees with underlying health conditions.

Services will continue with the following modifications:

All PUSD schools will remain closed through May 5, pending any changes.
School principals and school site personnel will work remotely to support students. School principals will stay in communication with parents regarding learning and technology needs.

The Enrollment, Permits & Student Records office will continue with Open Enrollment for the 2020-21 school year. Please remember that Webster will have a TK next year.

This week, students will continue to work on teacher provided packets (hard copy or electronic) or the remote learning packets. Please set up a schedule for students including school work times, but also plenty of time for play, storytime, and physical activity.

Next week, March 30-April 3rd is Spring Break so no schoolwork is expected to be completed. The following week, beginning April 6, teachers will have their online classrooms set up for instruction through May 5th.

This Friday, March 29th, is the last Friday of the month, so it is a free dress day! You may share students in free dress, connecting with teachers or classmates or learning from home to our Webster Facebook page at Webster Elementary School Pasadena. That can be a fun way for our Webster community to stay connected.

Be well and have a great week!

  • March 19, 2020 Webster Family Check-in:
This is Mrs. Forrest checking in to see how you are all doing? Almost everyone has their Chromebook and charger at home. If you still don't have this, please come tomorrow between 8am and 11am to pick it up. Please use the double doors by the staff parking lot.

Please make sure that in addition to doing schoolwork, students also have the opportunity to take breaks, go on walks, do puzzles, and play.

I am working at Webster each day. All teachers and I had a remote staff meeting online yesterday. The teachers are working hard to create great PowerSchool Learning classes for students to access.

Our amazing custodians are here at Webster too! They are doing a deep cleaning of the entire school.

If you have any questions or concerns about curriculum, please reach out to your classroom teachers. Their emails are on our school website at www.pusd.us/webster under the About Our School tab, then under staff directory.

Hope you are all well and don't forget that tomorrow is a pupil free day!
