Early Childhood Education and Extended Learning Programs
Our department is dedicated to offering high quality Child Development Programs by providing a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, creative, linguistic, and cognitive development of each child through developmentally and culturally appropriate practices while responding to the needs of the child and his or her family.
The Child Development Department of the Pasadena Unified School District serves children ages 3 through 11. Our program offers Full Day Preschool, Part Day Preschool and Before and After School Care for families who may qualify for State subsidized funding.
Children ages 3 to 5 years can receive services from our 12 different school locations or 4 children centers across the District. To enroll in a preschool program, children must be 3 years September 1st of the enrolling school year.
Children in kindergarten-5th grade can enroll in our Before and After school Care programs offered at Jefferson and Longfellow Children’s Centers.
Care is also available for School Age children during Spring, Winter and Summer break.
Families who are not income eligible may also be able to obtain services for a low monthly fee rate. Please call the Early Childhood Education Office at 626.396.5762 for additional information.
