Annual Fund Booster (AFB)


      What is AFB?
Annual Fund Boosters (AFB) is an organization designed for the sole purpose of raising money for the Sierra Madre Schools to offset budget deficits and provide enrichment.  Parents plan an annual giving drive for school families and the local Sierra Madre community.  Fundraising events throughout the year including the Annual Fund Campaign, Annual Live & Silent Auction, Holiday Sales, Talent Show, and Golf Tourney are ways we raise needed funds for our schools.  Areas funded by AFB include Visual & Performing Arts Education, MDLIP Instructional Materials, Science, Technology & Math Education,Multi-Cultural Assemblies, Campus Security, Science Olympiad, Library Materials and Physical Education Equipment.

    The fundraising goal for the 2017-2018 school year is to raise over $150,000 in net proceeds.  The School Site Council, in collaboration with the school principal, will evaluate and determine the allocation of funds based on the school's key priority lists.

    AFB Mission Statement:
AFB proceeds fund vital salaries and programs at both SME and SMMS, otherwise not covered by district or federal budgets.  The funds raised by AFB directly benefit the classroom and students at our schools and support programs in arts, sciences, physical, and special education.

    Board Meetings:
Parents and staff members are welcome to join our monthly board meetings generally held at 8:00 amon the first Friday of every month. Please check the school calendar as meeting days and locations can vary due to other school activities.

    Please Donate Today:
Your support is essential to our schools success!  Major state cuts are threatening our award-winning schools.  PUSD and Sierra Madre Schools are not alone in our need to collect donations.  Every public school in the region relies on its Annual Fund and PTA to bridge the gap between district funding and what it actually costs to educate our children.
