Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Jacobo Coronel
Mr. Jacob Coronel joined the Eliot Arts family in 2017 as the English Language Development teacher. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from Cal State Fullerton in 2009 and a Master's degree in Secondary Education along with an English teaching credential from Loyola Marymount University in 2016. While at LMU, Mr. Coronel worked as an Educational Psychology and Instructional Technology teaching assistant for 3 semesters.
Mr. Coronel was the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship to México (2016-2017) and had the opportunity to practice and expand upon his teaching skills as an ELD teacher at a public university in the state of Quéretaro. He describes his experience in México as life-changing.
When he isn't nerd-ing out reading informational texts or planning technology-based lessons, you can find Mr. Coronel at a tennis court or running a marathon. He loves all things art, worked as a photographer for several years, and even studied fashion design and released a pert-a-porter women's collection.
He is "extremely happy and excited" to join the Eliot Arts family and to work with our scholars, community, and staff.
