I am a science teacher for the International Academy students and also teach biology for high school students that have gone through the International Academy program. I received my degree in Ecology, Behavior, and Evolution from UCSD and hold a Single Subject Credential in Biological Sciences from Cal State Long Beach. For the past five years I have been working with newcomer students who do not speak English. I taught at Warren High School and Doty Middle School in Downey before starting my position here at Blair.

In my science classes, I enjoy creating a safe community where students can collaborate with their peers to create cooperative learning groups. Students will become scientists by making observations and asking questions that will lead to further studies in the sciences. I look forward to working with students and parents to create young scientists willing to explore and expand the wonders of our world and beyond.
