• WESM Girls Lego Robotics Club (Winter of 2016)

The WESM Girls Robotics Club was created with the intention of increasing female participation in science, technology, engineering, and math based activities.  Students will learn to follow directions and build pre-designed kits and later progress to redesigning the kits.  While the students are learning the basics of building the lego kits, they will also learn basic keyboarding skills and will be taught coding via scratch (a visual scripting language).  The final club activities will require students to work with the instructors and student coaches to build and program their own robots and engage in various competitions.  Participation in the club will require hard work, dedication, and teamwork, but it is a very valuable experience.

This class is open for students in the 2nd and 3rd grades and will meet once a week on Wednesdays from 2:30 to 3:30 PM in room A208.
