Welcome to John Muir High School Athletics

  • We are all very proud of our athletic programs and we hope that you will take advantage of some of the athletic programs at John Muir High School whether as a participant or as a spectator.  It is important for students and parents to become involved in their school if they are to have an enjoyable experience.

Please use the options to view team schedules and directions to the games; athletic news; athletic awards and notable alumni; Booster Club information; NCAA information and useful athletic links.

For our student athletes - each program will have a try-out period. The fall season programs will have try-outs prior to the beginning of school.  Try-outs for winter sports will be in early October and try-outs for spring sports will be in early December. Watch the Weekly Bulletin for notices about the try-out dates.

All athletes are required to have a physical examination prior to participation. You can obtain your physical from your own physician or John Muir High School will provide Winter and Spring physicals for a nominal fee.

Student athletes must meet CIF and PUSD eligibility requirements.

In order to be eligible academically, all athletes must maintain a 2.0 or better grade point average (GPA) or the student may be declared ineligible to participate in sports.  Students that have a GPA lower than 2.0 and passed four classes will be required to attend tutorial classes and have their academic progress monitored in order to play sports.  All freshman entering John Muir High School will automatically have their academic progress monitored and may receive tutoring services until they display consistent academic effectiveness. We look forward to having you become a part of the Mustang athletic program. See the Student Handbook for more detailed information.

If we can answer any questions about our programs, please send us an email or give us a call.
