College Board - Real Talk: Join the College Board for a two-night Real Talk: HBCU Edition on Wednesday, March 3, and Thursday, March 4. Students will have an opportunity to connect with admissions representatives from the best HBCUs in the country and get questions answered in real time. Topics covered will include financial aid, scholarships, academic offerings, career paths, student organizations, Greek life, housing, and more. All ages and academic achievement levels are welcome. AAPC Scholarships for Tutoring and College Application Fees: If you are a black student in PUSD in need of a stipend or reimbursement to cover the cost of college application fees, please apply here, no later than April 30, 2021. Questions can be sent to info@aapcpusd.com. The AAPC is pleased to offer PUSD's black students, grades 8-12, scholarships for math and science tutoring through the Caltech Rise tutoring program. Funds are limited, so please be sure to email your interest no later than the February 28th deadline to Natasha Mahone at info@aapcpusd.com. Carnegie Mellon's Pre-College Programs in the fine arts are six-week residential experiences that provide high school students with the opportunity to develop their skills in a conservatory or studio setting. College Access Plan is offering a 5-week workshop series for PUSD juniors to help them get a headstart in their college application process. This 5-week workshop, which runs from March 4 to April 1, will help students begin their college application process from a place of strength. It is open to all students and especially suited for first-generation and low-income students. Applications are due February 22, 2021. Fliers with more information are available in English and Spanish.
