Inclusive Education Week: December 8-12, 2025
A Message from the CAC Board to all PUSD Staff and the Community:
Please join us in celebrating Inclusive Schools Week, December 8–12, 2025. This annual event — formally adopted by the PUSD Board of Education on November 20th, 2025 — was established as part of an international movement to recognize the progress schools have made in providing a high-quality education to an increasingly diverse student population, including students marginalized due to disability, gender, socio-economic status, and cultural heritage.
Inclusive Schools Week offers educators, students, families, and the community a dedicated opportunity to discuss, reflect on, and strengthen practices that support the successful education of ALL children. This year’s celebration is especially meaningful as we commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). It's an ideal moment to encourage teachers and students to reflect on their roles in ensuring every child feels a sense of belonging and is recognized as an integral part of the PUSD community.
The Inclusive Schools Network website provides free resources and celebration ideas designed to promote awareness of inclusion and celebrate the diversity present across our campuses. Attached you will find the Celebration Guide and Celebration Activities, which educators are encouraged to use when planning site-based events.
Attached you will also find a video that highlights the importance of introducing inclusive education early and reminds us that it's never too late to reflect on how we can better support students at any stage on life’s path.
Inclusive Schools Week is a wonderful opportunity to engage all teachers and students in celebrating what unites us: putting CHILDREN FIRST.
