COVID-19 Updates

Following new guidance from public health authorities, PUSD is updating its COVID-19 recommendations and using symptom-based approach to isolation and prevention. The impact of COVID-19 has been reduced due to broad immunity from vaccination and/or natural infection, and readily available treatments for infected people.

So what does this mean for PUSD?

  • Instead of staying home for a minimum of 5 days, individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 may return to work or school when they start to feel better, meaning their symptoms are mild and improving, and they have not had a fever for a full day (24 hours) without the use of fever-reducing medication.

  • Masking recommendations have not changed. All individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19, and all with respiratory symptoms should wear a mask around others indoors for 10 days from when symptoms started or the positive test date (if no symptoms).

  • COVID-19 test kits are still available at each school site and at the PUSD Education Center reception area.
