The Early Childhood Program is dedicated to offering high-quality Child Development Programs by providing a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, creative, linguistic, and cognitive development of each child through developmentally and culturally appropriate practices while responding to the needs of the child and his or her family.

The Pasadena Unified School District’s Early Childhood Department for Preschool serves children ages 3 through 5 years of age. Our program offers Full Day Preschool and Half  Day Preschool.  

Children will develop in the following areas:

Physical · Social · Emotional · STEAM Curriculum
Linguistic · Cognitive · Creative Curriculum

Children ages 3 to 5 years can receive Half Day preschool from our 12 different school locations or  Full Day care at 5 Children Centers across the District. To enroll in a preschool program, children must be 3 years on or before December 1st of the enrolling school year. 

Before and After School Care is also available for school-age children in kindergarten-1st grade at Washington Children’s Center.  Child Care is also available for Preschool and School Age children during Spring, Winter, and Summer break.

Families who are not income-eligible for subsidy may also be able to obtain services for a low monthly fee rate. Please call the Early Childhood Education Office at (626) 396-5762 for additional information.

 

* Preschool does not guarantee placement in the Elementary School for Kindergarten. It is the parents' responsibility to follow the district procedure for the school application process.
