Preschool Language Programs
Introduction to French and the Arts at Altadena Arts Magnet
During the Introduction to French and Arts Preschool Program, students will learn French through research-based curriculum that prepares them for the Pasadena Unified Elementary French Dual Immersion Program. Students are provided the opportunity to gain exposure to French and arts integration.
Class Environment
The classroom will provide a nurturing environment so it may promote physical, social, emotional, creative, linguistic and cognitive development of each child through developmentally and culturally appropriate practices.
French Language
Preschool students will prepare for kindergarten by learning basics, such as the alphabet, and numbers. Students will be exposed to the language and culture through books, stories, music, and the arts.
Staff: Preschool teacher, French speaking intern, French speaking staff.
Arts
Preschool students will receive an arts integrated education that aligns with Altadena Arts Magnet School's mission and vision. Students will be involved in creating visual art projects, dramatic play, and will have several performing arts opportunities as members of the whole school community. With an active Parent Teacher Association, Preschool parents are welcome to engage in the thriving parent body of AAM through volunteerism and fundraising.

* Preschool does not guarantee placement at Altadena Arts Magnet for kindergarten. It is the parents' responsibility to follow district procedure for the school application process.
Spanish Dual Language Immersion Preschool Programs
During the Spanish Immersion Preschool Program, students will learn Spanish through research-based curriculum that prepares them for the Pasadena Unified Elementary Spanish Dual Immersion Program. Students are provided the opportunity to become bilingual, biliterate, and culturally aware in Spanish. Caring high quality teachers instruct the students 100% in Spanish throughout their participation in the program. Educational Assistants are available to assist the students in English.

- San Rafael Elementary Preschool offers two sessions:
Morning session operates Monday-Friday from 7:45am-10:45am.
Afternoon session operated Monday-Friday from 11:45am-2:45pm.
- Jackson Elementary Preschool offers two sessions:
Morning session operates Monday - Friday from 7:45 am - 10:45 am.
Afternoon session operated Monday-Friday from 11:45am-2:45pm.
- Jefferson Elementary Preschool:
Morning session operated Monday -Friday from 7:45am - 10:45am.
Tuition
- Annual Registration fee of $50
- Annual Field Trip fee of $25
- Monthly tuition fee of $550 a month
Program complies with State Required components of: Assessment of the Child and their Environment (DRDP’s and ECER’s)

Mandarin Dual Language Immersion Preschool Program
During the Mandarin Immersion Preschool Program, students will learn Mandarin through research-based curriculum that prepares them for the Pasadena Unified Elementary Mandarin Dual Immersion Program. Students are provided the opportunity to become bilingual, biliterate, and culturally aware in Mandarin. Caring high quality teachers instruct the students 100% in Mandarin throughout their participation in the program. Educational Assistants are available to assist the students in English.

Monday-Friday from 8:40am-3:10pm.
Extended Care Available from 3:10pm-5:45pm for additional fee.
