Math Placement Parent Appeal Form: In accordance with The California Mathematics Placement Act of 2015, which states the placement policy must offer a "clear and timely recourse for each pupil and his or her parent or legal guardian who questions the pupil's placement", PUSD has provided a Math Placement Parent Appeal Form.
Prior to any change in a student's recommended placement, both the student and parent/legal guardian will be counseled on the impact of any proposed change in placement. The waiver can be used to request placement above or below the recommended placement.
Proper placement of students is crucial to their success both emotionally and academically in math. For this reason, please note the appeal waiver does not guarantee a change in math placement.
