What is SISC?  SISC is a Joint Power Authority that manages medical insurance plans for a number of school districts. SISC is able to negotiate reasonable and stable rates for medical insurance directly with carriers like Blue Shield and Kaiser. These rates are possible because of the large number of members within SISC's network. In Addition, SISC is able to offer added benefits at no additional cost to members. Examples of additional benefits include the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Health Smarts, Annual Health Screenings, and no “doughnut-hole” medicare supplemental plans.
