DELAC
English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) & District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC)
The Pasadena Unified School District has a variety of options for parents wishing to get involved in their child’s education. For parents of English Learners and Reclassified English Learners, there is the English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) at each site and the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) at the district level. These committees meet monthly with site and district personnel to discuss issues related to the English Learner program such as the Single Plan for Student Achievement, reclassification criteria, and the importance of school attendance. Parents are, also, given the opportunity to share their thoughts with the school regarding the English Learner program and can receive ideas as to how to support their children in the home.
Translation is available upon request at all meetings and all parents are welcome to attend.
