Superintendent's Budget Advisory Committee

In Fall 2024, PUSD  convened a Superintendent’s Budget Advisory Committee (SBAC) to review budget and program plans and make recommendations on prioritization for the 2025-26 district budget to the Superintendent and the Governing Board. The committee met from September - December 2024.

With the prospect of budget reductions over the next two years due to projected declines in ongoing revenue, PUSD fundamentally changed its planning and budget development process to focus on performance-based budgeting, balancing cost efficiency and educational effectiveness.

The purpose of the Superintendent’s Budget Advisory Committee was to foster transparency, collaboration, and community involvement by a broad range of parents, staff, and educational partners. Through this continuous improvement and ongoing engagement process, the goal was to fund strategies that align with the Board of Education’s five strategic directions as outlined in PUSD’s five-year Strategic Plan.
