Mission & Goals

Message from Dr. Marco Villegas - Spring 2022

As your Associate Superintendent of Specialized Student Support, it is my pleasure to support the tradition of excellence in the Athletic Department in the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD). The PUSD Athletic Department believes that athletic participation improves students’  lives by providing the foundation for academic excellence. Our strong athletics program produces well-rounded educational development for students.  We are committed to improving our athletics programs on all campuses to stay true to the tradition of athletic excellence in PUSD. 

This year, we have started the improvement of many of our fields and have completed a renovation of the football fields at Muir and Pasadena High School. We have forged a partnership with Children's Hospital so that each of our high schools will have a full-time trainer to support the athletics programs and we are making strides to make sure our athletes have the support they need.

I am very proud of the accomplishments our student-athletes have attained. I look forward to the many new opportunities that are yet to come!
