Pasadena Unified All Star Musical

WHAT: Following the great success of Into the Woods, the first PUSD All Star Musical in 2023, the PUSD Arts & Enrichment Office in association with Pasadena Playhouse came back for the second iteration! In February of 2025 and into March 2025, Pasadena Unified presented another full-scale production of a major Broadway musical, Hadestown (Teen Edition). Students from all PUSD high schools were back at it again on stage! From the leading and supporting roles, in the chorus and orchestra, and behind the scenes as the stage crew, and designing and building the sets, props, and costumes. The unique production featured the visual and performing arts contributions of over 100 PUSD students, and was enjoyed by approximately 8500 student and community audience members.

WHERE: A total of six performances for PUSD students and the public took place at the Gladiss Edwards Auditorium at Pasadena High School. The Muir Mustang Design Lab took part in the process, where many took their time and effort into making the impressive costumes and set design that the audience saw on show day! Once designs were set in stone, they took it to Pasadena High School, where all rehearsals took place as well as the performances.

WHEN: After auditions were finalized, rehearsals took place throughout the month of February. Along with rehearsals, the cast and crew participated in workshops, and in the end ultimately culminated in six breathtaking performances that took place from February 26th to March 2nd.
