Black Student & Family Task Force
The Black Student and Family Task Force was created due to the advocacy of The African American Parent Council (AAPC) and the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) to address educational equity for Black students. The goal of the Black Student and Family Task Force is to review PUSD’s strategic plan and pillars - in combination with Resolution 2566 - to develop a comprehensive plan meeting the holistic needs of Black students and families in PUSD.
The Black Student and Family Task Force started in August 2023 and is facilitated by Dr. KiMi Wilson of Equation 2 Success. The mission of the Black Student and Family Task Force is to bring together diverse community stakeholders throughout the city of Pasadena to provide their voice, input, and solutions to re-envision educational equity for Black children and families in PUSD.
To empower the Black Student and Family Task Force members and its extended communities to build equity, access, and opportunity for Black students and families. We will ensure Pasadena Unified School District’s strategic focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion is held to the highest standard.
