PUSD Student 2027 Board Representatives
YOU can join PUSD’s first Student Assembly and represent fellow students on PUSD’s Board of Education (BOE)! Each school will elect members from each grade, and YOU are invited to run for office at your grade level!
Juniors who are voted in to join the Assembly will serve on the Student Council and offer input through preferential votes at PUSD’s monthly Board of Education (BOE) meetings. Student Council members from all PUSD high schools will rotate attendance at BOE meetings; however, all PUSD BOE agenda items (except material for closed sessions) will be discussed and voted on at Student Assembly meetings by all elected members.
If elected to serve on the Student Assembly, your commitment will be:
- Regular attendance at District-wide Assembly meetings (virtual or in-person)
- Regular in-person attendance at one in-person meeting on your campus with Assembly and Council members from your school, during school hours with the facilitator.
- Participate in regular meetings with the Student Think Tank as well as students on your campus
- Student Council only: All of the above and attendance at in-person Board of Education meetings on a rotational basis at the district office.
Meeting times will be determined by elected Student Assembly Members, and all hours will be counted as community service hours.
Meetings will be held approximately once every other week and the board meeting agenda items will be voted on within the meetings. There will also be designated times for students to bring up issues at the meetings for their Student Council members to voice at PUSD BOE meetings.
Any questions about the application process or running for elections? PUSD Student’s Think Tank will act as a support service to the Student Assembly, and will provide help as needed. This includes, but is not limited to: training student board members, giving support for meetings, and attending Assembly meetings.
Please reach out to Ms. Sehba Sarwar if you have any questions sarwar.sehba@pusd.us.
