Student Elections
Newly elected and reelected members were welcomed to the Student Assembly/Council at PUSD’s December 11 Board of Education Meeting. To learn about the new members, please see below.
Student Assembly & Council
The Student Assembly and Council (SAC) Member commitment is:

Attendance at monthly after-school in-person SAC two-hour meetings.

Participation in SAC and Student Think Tank Members (STT) in-person four-hour meetings during the schoolday..

Collaboration with campus SAC and Student Think Tank Members (STT) to gain feedback from larger student body

Optional: Attendance at weekly night-time one-hour virtual meetings
The Student Council commitment is:

Attendance at two Board of Education meetings at the district office to represent PUSD’s student body.
PUSD's Student Think Tank supports the Student Assembly and oversees elections.
Meetings
Student Council members from all PUSD high schools will rotate attendance at Board of Education (BOE) meetings; however, all BOE agenda items (except material for closed sessions) will be discussed and voted on at Student Assembly meetings at all six high schools.
Meetings will be held approximately once every other week and the board meeting agenda items will be voted on within the meetings. There will also be designated times for students to bring up issues at the meetings for their Student Council members to voice at PUSD BOE meetings.
Meeting times are determined by elected Student Assembly members and all hours will be community service hours.
Student Assembly 2025-26
The PUSD Student Assembly/Council is elected and sworn in by the end of each calendar year. Newly elected members begin to serve their one-year term in January each year.
Student Council Members
Abel (Blair)

Abel (he/him) is part of Blair’s Student Run LA team, Upward Bound, and other clubs. He is transitioning from his work with PUSD’s Student Think Tank, where he’s been serving since January 2025 to serving as an elected member of the Student Assembly/Council. He brings with him strong leadership skills to communicate with students and adults.
Isabelle (Muir)

Isabelle (Bella) (she/her) is responsible, dependable, and works well with others, and she is committed to using her skills to communicate, stay organized, and be supportive when people need help. Bella wants to use her strengths to make a positive difference for others. She serves on ASB and bakes whenever she can carve out the time.
Katherine (Thurgood Marshall)

Katherine (she/her) is a member of many Marshall leadership positions including ASB for three years, Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Ambassador, PTSA Student Representative, as well as on the mock trials team. She is transitioning from her membership in PUSD’s Student Think Tank to step into serving as an elected member of the Student Assembly/Council. Katherine has earned Girl Scout bronze and silver awards and is working toward gold.
Nathan (PHS)

Nathan (he/him) combines initiative, responsibility, and a commitment to service. His leadership has developed both inside and outside the classroom — from organizing group projects and ensuring that every member’s voice is heard to stepping up in his family when he is needed. At PHS, Nathan is part of clubs including Hearts of Youth, Pasadena Humane, and a PCC mechanical studies program. He is motivated to bring people together, listen to diverse perspectives, and turn ideas into action.
Student Assembly Members
Alessandro (PHS)

Alessandro (he/him) serves as Co-Vice President of the PHS Green Club, is part of Cal-State LA’s Upward Bound program, PHS’s Origami Club, the Pasadena Chronicle, the National Hispanic Honors Society, and has been a member of the Student Think Tank since 2024. Dedicated to bringing change in the community, Alessandro has strong skills in advocacy and communication that have served him when voicing concerns of injustices in school systems, ICE raids, and other unsustainable practices. He participates in weekly campus-wide recycle efforts, hiking trail cleanups, and the restoration of gardens affected by the Eaton Fire.
Allison (PHS)

Ally (she/her) is an avid member of PHS’s Asian Culture Club, ASB, and debate club. Apart from school, she coaches Science Olympiad at Sierra Madre Middle School and is vice president of the Sierra Madre Rotary Interact Club where she volunteers around the community. Allie loves to read novels, drink boba and eat yummy snacks during her down time. After high school she plans to enter the science field and explore her passions at a four-year university.
Errol (Thurgood Marshall)

Errol (he/him) is involved in many Marshall clubs including drama, model UN, multimedia, student progressives, student library, and Sexuality and Gender Education (SAGE). He has also held positions including serving as marketing manager for the PUSD’s All Star musical and teen intern at the Altadena library. Errol is committed to supporting all PUSD students in all aspects of their academic journey.
Jamari (Center for Independent Study)

Jamari (he/him) has held leadership roles in basketball, soccer, student ambassador and more. Through his academic journey, Jamari has overcome many obstacles in life and has been able to support peers in overcoming theirs. He is a great listener of other’s needs.
Jenna (Thurgood Marshall)

Jenna (she/her) is part of many school organizations including Keystone, the Teen advisory club, Moste, Women in Business and Stem (WIBS), Key club, as well as in volleyball. She has experience advocating for the needs of peers through community service.
Lula (Muir)

Lula (she/her) is enrolled in Muir’s Arts, Entertainment, and Media Academy. She plays varsity tennis, serves as treasurer of the debate club, and sings in her school’s choir. Outside of school, Lula is a black belt and she enjoys family time, working out, and listening to music. After graduating high school, Lula plans to attend a four-year university.
Malena (Muir)

Malena (she/her) is a strong public speaker, who takes other people’s feelings and feedback into account when making big decisions. She has previously served in ASB during middle school and is a pathway docent at the Gamble House Museum. A pep manager at Muir, Malena is committed to attending all football games.
Marlee (PHS)

Marlee (she/her) is part of Upward Bound Cal-State Los Angeles and has participated in their saturated academy and summer program. She is also part of PHS’s Puente program, a thrift club, and a Spanish club. As the oldest daughter, she does most chores around her home and always helps her younger brother with his homework. During middle school, Marlee served as captain for a dance team for two years.
Yul (Blair)

Yul (he/him) enjoys debate club, editing, taekwondo, and Hap Ki Do. Outside of class, Yul likes video games, drawing, and the research of animals. Media analysis is a fun hobby in his eyes, so being a food junkie comes a bit naturally. He hopes to attend a four-year university, and hopes the Assembly can help him find his way there.
Xavier (Blair)

Xavier (he/him) served as a member of the Principal's Advisory Council at Blair Middle School. Bilingual in English and Spanish, he has been a member of Blair's Student Run LA team for over two years and serves on Blair’s soccer team.
