Side Street Projects (SSP), Rose City High School, and the PUSD Arts office present the Pasadena Unified School District's (PUSD) 16th Annual art exhibition ''No Boundaries 16.'' This year's exhibition features 240 artworks by students from PUSD with themes of folk art, nature, pop art, to name a few.
With the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's No Boundaries was adapted to an online exhibition curated by Rose City High School in partnership with SSP. Rose City High School students reviewed artwork by K–12th grade schools through an aesthetic and visionary lens.
The 25 themes were developed through the students' curatorial decision-making. The concept of "No Boundaries" is to teach that there are no boundaries to an audience's perspective and connection to art.
This very idea was tested in the curation process of this year's exhibition as students brainstormed and moved through the conditions of the reality of today's lifestyle post-COVID-19. For the first time in the history of No Boundaries, students worked from home and connected virtually for the development of the exhibition. This project was funded through a grant from the California Arts Council.
