Tina Fredericks (District 6)

Tina Fredericks was elected to the Pasadena Unified School District Board of Education in 2020 and represents District 6.
She is a product of public schools. She believes that public schools are foundational to a democracy. As a credentialed classroom math teacher, she taught middle school and high school, then was a third-grade teacher assistant in PUSD. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of California, San Diego.She's a mother of two daughters, one who is currently a fifth-grader at Willard Elementary School and the other who started at California State Los Angeles Early Entrance Program at age 13 in fall 2020. She has lived with her husband and two daughters in Pasadena since 2010. Tina is an active parent volunteer serving on PTA Board for multiple terms as Vice President, Treasurer, Legislative Advocate. After years of political advocacy and organizing legislative visits about healthcare, tenants rights, and environmental justice, Tina hopes to utilize her political advocacy work to strengthen public education in her role as Board member and restore Pasadena Unified School District to the world-class standing it once had.
