Ms. Micol Issa

Ms. Issa began her teaching career in 2010 in Haiti.  She began teaching in PUSD in 2016.  Ms. Issa earned her BA from Oberlin College and her Single Subject Teaching Credential from UCI.  She has lived in Ohio, France, and Haiti. Ms. Issa speaks three languages fluently and is trained in Capoeira--an Afro-Brazilian martial art and dance. She loves to garden, hike, make art & theater, and cook. She loves Prince. She is a proud member of the People's Education Movement and is passionate about social justice, community building, creating systems of care and transformation. She recieved the "Rising Star" Award in high school and is a PEF Teacher Grant recipient 3 years in a row.  In 2017-2018 she was the winner of the Calvin Hunt Award and the Showcase House grant winner 3 years in a row.  Ms. Issa loves getting to work with all the students and staff on their personal goals and community goals.
