Ms. Cynthia Lake
Ms. Lake began teaching in 1981 and joined the Muir staff in 1993. Ms. Lake earned her BA in Fine Arts at Cal State LA and her Master's in DBL Curriculum and Instruction. She is a Pasadena native and attended Longfellow Elementary, John Marshall Junior High, and John Muir High School. Ms. Lake is an avid Environmentalist and Ecology Activist, and life-long learner. Her interests include Nexus of Arts and Science, World Travel, Architecture and Construction, Welding, Gardening, Sewing, Reading, Bicycling, Sporting Events, Movies, Live Theater, Animal care and protection, and equal civil rights for all. She also collects rocks, fish and cows. She has been married for 45 years and has three sons and menagerie of pets- dogs, cat, birds, fish, turtles, iguanas, tortoises, guinea pigs, bunny, bearded dragon, silk worms. She is also a Master Potter. She has been awarded the Rotary Teacher of the year in 1999 and the Most Spirited Award. She loves Muir because she considers everyone FAMILY!
