Mr. Danny Huerta

Mr. Huerta began teaching Special Education math in 2017 in South Los Angeles. In 2019, he accepted his Special Eduation math teaching position at Muir. Mr. Huerta earned his B.S. in Community & Regional Development from the University of California, Davis and his M.A. in Urban Education: Policy & Administration from Loyola Marymount University.  He is a lifelong community member of Northwest Pasadena and although both his parents attended PHS during their younger years, he, like his grandfather, are proud alumni of John Muir High School (c/o 2011). When Mr. Huerta is not teaching, he tries to spend his time outdoors (i.e. biking, hiking, going to the park, etc.), but he also enjoys taking pictures, reading books, watching YouTube, and spending time with family.  Mr. Huerta says Muir means - Community. Tradition. Culture of Perseverance.
