Ms. Dao teaches 9th and 10th grade English and English Puente for the Arts, Entertainment, and Media (AEM) Academy.

 

She received her BA in English from UC Berkeley, and her MA in Teaching from USC. She would eventually apply to an English position here at Muir, and started in October 2014. She's also been the yearbook adviser at Muir since the 2018-2019 school year.

 

Ms. Dao's family is originally from Vietnam. One of Ms. Dao's proudest moments was being able to plan and take her mother on a vacation to Australia and New Zealand for her mother's 60th birthday, where her mother was able to reunite with two sisters, whom she hadn't met in person in decades since all 3 sisters had tried to escape on a different boat after the fall of Saigon in Vietnam.

 

What Ms. Dao loves most about Muir are the students. She hopes to help encourage and support students in celebrating and taking pride in their individual talents and abilities, while also gaining some new skills and knowledge along the way!
