Dr. Manuel Rustin
Dr. Rustin began teaching in 2004 and has been at Muir since 2008. He earned his B.A. in History with a minor in Education Studies at UCLA, his M.Ed in Teaching and Curriculum at Harvard, and his Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership at UCLA. Dr. Rustin is an avid UCLA, 49ers, and Real Madrid fan. He and his wife have three dogs that they rescued. In 2018, Dr. Rustin launched his own show about education called “All of the Above.” He and his co-host explore critical issues across the education landscape and take a look at issues and headlines that impact our schools. Dissertation Award; Milken Educator Award; and the NAACP Ruby McKnight Educator Award. Advisor: California Department of Education Instructional Quality Commission by the State Board of Education; Chair of the History-Social Science Subject Matter Committee for the commission; and the Educator Advisory Council for EdTrust-West. Dr. Rustin's daily interactions with his Mustang students bring him the most joy. He loves learning from them, connecting with them, and being part of the Mustang family. He believes his students are such good people, even when they hate on his sports teams.
