Curbside Tech Support
Since April 2020, ITS has held curbside appointments with both PUSD students and staff. These appointments will support device issues that can't be solved remotely, such as, Chromebook checkouts, hotspot checkouts, and student exchanges for loaner devices. Please note that these appointments can only be scheduled after a Tech Ticket has been submitted online by visiting the Helpdesk within ARMS. We appreciate your patience, and we hope to speed up our service time with this new procedure in place.

How to Update Your Chromebook
- Turn on your Chromebook.
- Connect your Chromebook to Wi-Fi.
- At the bottom right, select the time.
- Select Settings .
- At the bottom of the left panel, select About Chrome OS.
- Under "Google Chrome OS," you'll find which version of the Chrome operating system your Chromebook uses.
- Select Check for updates.
- If your Chromebook finds a software update, it will start to download automatically.

Powerwashing your Chromebook

- You experienced increased slowness on your Chromebook
- Your images aren’t loading
- Your device won’t connect to WiFi
- Your trackpad is not tracking accurately
- Your touchscreen has stopped working
- The letters onscreen do not match the letters you press on the keyboard
Step 1:
Press esc + Refresh (this button -
) + power (on the right side of the Chromebook)
All at the same time.Step 2:
When the screen comes back (it will show a screen asking you to insert a recovery USB stick), press ctrl+d
Step 3:
The screen will change, then press enter
Step 4:
The screen will change again, then press the spacebar
Step 5:
The screen will change again, then press enter.
The Chromebook will restart and begin the process of reconfiguring the device.Step 6:
Your device will restart will display a welcome screen
Click On “Let’s go”Step 7:
If at home, select your home wifi network and enter your wifi password. Once connected, click “Next”
Step 8:
You will be taken to the Google Chrome OS terms. Click on “Accept and continue”.
Step 9:
The Chromebook will check for updates, then you will click on “Done”.
Step 10:
You will be taken to the Sign in to your Chromebook page, click on “Next” and sign in with your PUSD account.
Congratulations! You have successfully powerwashed your Chromebook.
