Students:
Welcome back and Happy New Year! We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow, Monday, January 7th, for our first day back from winter break.  
Reminders: Please be sure to be on time and in dress code. Also please remember to have cell phones turned off and put away during school hours and bring your Chromebooks to school, fully charged. 
African American History Day and Math Field Day are coming soon! If you are interested in signing up for either or both events, please see Dr. Peters in Room 123. She will connect you with our team advisors for each event.  

Parents/Guardians:
This Thursday is “2nd Thursday”, our parent meeting day. We look forward to seeing you there.

Activities/Events this week:
Hairspray Rehearsals are on Tues., Jan. 8th, from 2:45 - 4:00 pm, in the auditorium 
PCC tutoring program continues every Monday and Wednesday, for 1 hour, after school, in the library. For more information and registration, please contact Ms. Koors. koors.carolyn@pusd.us    
Room 13 After School Art Activities continue every Tues. and Thurs., 2:30 - 5:00 pm, in Room 106. 
Orchestra Practice continues every Tues. and Thurs., from 2:30- 3:30 pm, in the band room. 
Jazz Band Practice continues every Weds., from 2:30 -3:30 pm, in the band room.    
Our “Behind the Scenes” evening school tour is this Weds., Jan 9, at 5pm, beginning in the gallery. 

Reminders/Save the Date:
Please save the date  for our 2nd Annual Science Night on January 25th, from 5:00 - 9:00 pm. This year we have over 40 science and technology organizations participating as well as several PUSD schools showcasing their science and technology programs! Please do not miss this wonderful evening, open to all.

Congratulations to our students, staff, and partners on an excellent Harmony Showcase!! The performances were amazing! A very special thanks to Ms. Issa, Ms. Plummer, Ms. Franklin, Ms. Klages, Mr. Moya, Ms. Gilbreath, Ms. Minckler, Mr. Duffy, Ms. Denise, Ms. Liane, Ms. Lory, and our Lineage Dance partners Ms. Ericalynn, Frit, Frat, and Ms. Kaya for your tremendous work with our students!   
Congratulations to our AMAZING Annual Fund Committee and ELAC for a very successful Tamale Fundraiser! We appreciate all you do to support our students and school!
