1. Pasadena Water & Power Scholarship
Each year, PWP honors two outstanding high school seniors in Pasadena with a first place $5,000 and another second place $2,500 educational scholarship to a two- or four-year accredited, post-secondary institution for the upcoming academic year. To apply, students must write a minimum 500-word essay about a topic related to the utility industry. To be eligible, the applicant must currently be a senior attending a high school in the City, provide academic transcripts, be a resident within the PWP service territory, and plan to attend a two- or four-year accredited, post-secondary institution in the following academic year. 2. Pasadena Alumnae Chapter - Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Scholarship Opportunity
The Pasadena Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is a public service organization comprised of college-educated women committed to the constructive development of its members and public service with a primary focus on the Black community. The major programs, based upon the Sorority’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust, focus on Educational and Economic Development, Physical & Mental Health,Political and International Awareness & Involvement. In order to foster educational development, academic awards are presented annually to African American students and students of African descent residing or attending school in Pasadena, Altadena or Sierra Madre. Candidates for academic awards will be selected based on academic performance, community and school activities, letters ofrecommendation, an essay, and an interview score. 4. Common App Scholarship - $2,000 - 3 Awards (Deadline: February 29, 2024)

9. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Scholarship Application
2024 scholarship application from the Pasadena Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. This year we will award a minimum of seven scholarships to college-bound African American graduating high school seniors. Six of the scholarships are for $2,000 and one is a four-year award for $5,000 (dispersed at $1,250 per year). The application must be postmarked by March 4, 2024 or hand-delivered by March 8, 2024. Rose Scholars presented by Citizens Business BankThe application period is from January 24, 2024 to March 4, 2024 (closes at 11:59 pm). To be considered for a scholarship, students must be graduating seniors (as of May or June 2024) from a PUSD high school. Applicants are invited to submit a creative piece that reflects their future dreams, goals, and aspirations.For the scholarship application submission, we are requesting the following from students:- A creative piece that reflects your future goals and plans. (Creative Piece example: painting, sculpture, poem, song, interpretive dance, or direct a mini-documentary.)
- A video recommendation. There is no minimum GPA requirement. Instead, please obtain a video recommendation from one teacher, coach, counselor or community organization leader. The video should be 1-2 minutes long, filmed horizontally and in .mp4 format.
- A one-page reflection describing your thoughts and feelings about the creative piece.
- A video reflection. The video should be 1-2 minutes long, filmed horizontally and in .mp4 format. The recording should go in-depth, describing your work, story, and inspiration for the piece and answering the question: Why do you want to be a Rose Scholar?
- Capture still images (only if applicable to your creative piece). Still images should be clear and high-resolution images of your creative piece (if applicable, i.e. a sculpture).
There is no minimum GPA requirement for Rose Scholars presented by Citizens Business Bank. For the students who receive a scholarship, they will be required to submit a copy of the acceptance letter from the school they plan on attending. Students will be required to submit this document AFTER they are notified of the award. All required material (creative piece, one-page reflection, video reflection, still images, video recommendation) should be submitted via the application link (below). Students should label their materials with their name, student ID and school. All materials are due no later than March 4, 2024 at 11:59pm PST. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Graduating high school senior, currently enrolled undergraduate two- or four-year college students, re-entry students, and graduate students
- Currently residing in California
- Demonstrated academic promise with a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
- Planning to enroll at a two- or four-year institution in the fall

13. Hagan Scholarship Foundation
The Hagan Scholarship provides up to $7500 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters. Students must graduate from high school, achieve a 3.5 gpa, enroll in an eligible college or university, make progress towards graduating within four years, work 240 hours before going to college and live in a home that makes less than 100k annually. The Pasadena Police Athletic AssociationThe Pasadena Police Athletic Association (PPAA) is comprised of Pasadena Police Department employees and seeks to improve the spirit, mind, and body of its members. The PPAA is also interested in
recognizing and assisting athletes who plan to continue their education after high school and are involved in their community. As such, the PPAA is offering a $2,500 scholarship for two graduating seniors (one male, one female) currently enrolled in the Pasadena Unified School District. To qualify, an applicant must meet the following criteria:
Graduating in the spring semester, 2024
Currently enrolled in PUSD
Currently involved in an organized athletic endeavor
Currently participating in a service activity with a school, community, or faith-based organization
Family members of Pasadena Police Department employees are not eligible
In addition, applicants must submit the following documents:

The form will request that you upload proof of the following:
Provide proof of acceptance from a college, university, or trade school
2 letters of recommendation (1 from a coach/athletic director, 1 from a supervisor involved in
your community outreach)
A video answering the listed questions
Report card or other document(s) showing eligibility for graduation, grades & GPA for the last
grading period as well as your cumulative high school GPA. There is no minimum GPA
requirement, but GPA will be taken into account.
The required video should be no longer than three minutes and answer the following questions:
What sport/athletic event do you participate in and where do you play?
What does the sport mean to you?
How are you using the sport to give back to others/the community?
What do you hope to achieve by pursuing your education?
What distinguishes you from the other candidates?
In addition to the above, some highlight footage of your athletics is acceptable but not required
Applicants will be able to upload their video and required documents directly to the google application
