Robotics: 

FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) is more than building robots. It is for teams of up to 15 members, grades 9-12. They are challenged to design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in a head-to-head challenge in an alliance format. Guided by adult coaches and mentors, students develop STEM skills and practice engineering principles, while realizing the value of hard work, innovation, and working as a team. The robot kit is reusable from year to year and can be coded using a variety of levels of Java-based programming. Teams design and build robots, raise funds, design and market their team brand, and community outreach to earn awards. This club also needs 3 adult mentors. 

 

Solar Cup:

Solar Cup is a high school education program in which teams of students from throughout Southern California build and race solar-powered boats. The program typically culminates in a three-day competition at Lake Skinner in the Temecula Valley. The program teaches students ages 15 or above about conservation of natural resources, electrical and mechanical engineering, problem-solving, and much more. This year, the program is done virtually.
