Principal's Message

Welcome to an exciting new year at Don Benito Elementary School. I look forward to working with you in partnership to achieve our goals in developing proficient learners, increasing student achievement, and building a safe, healthy school community.

    WE SUCCEED because WE BELIEVE

We believe if all students work hard and are supported by their family, school, and community they will be successful. In addition, we support all students at Don Benito Elementary with the academic and social skills necessary to be successful and college bound. As a prospective No Excuses University School Don Benito promotes an environment of “college readiness” through academic goals, development of character traits, and school spirit. I encourage you to talk to your students each day regarding their progress towards their goals and ways they have demonstrated the character traits of responsibility, respect, fairness, citizenship, caring, and trustworthiness.

Don Benito Elementary School has many opportunities for parents to be involved in their child’s education. Along with volunteering in your child’s classroom, parents are needed to serve on various committees and councils: Parent Teachers Association (PTA), School Site Council (SSC), African American Parent Council (AAPC), and English Learners Advisory Council (ELAC). For information on becoming involved in our school, please contact your child’s teacher or call the school office.

In addition, I encourage you to attend the many school events including Back to School Night, The BobCat Bash, Read-A-Thon, Jog-A-Thon,  PTA events, and Parent–Teacher Conferences. I would also encourage everyone to participate in our Parent University program. More information about these great opportunities will be sent out in the Blue Folders and through our weekly phone blast (Sunday @5:00).

If I can help you in any way, please contact me at the school office at 626-396-5870 or e-mail me at chamberlain.paula@pusd.us.

    Respectfully,
