Ms. Micol Issa
Micol started teaching in 2008 as a TA at Oberlin College for the Department of Francophone Studies and continued teaching university students English as a Foreign Language in Haiti from 2010 to 2014. She holds a bachelor's degree in French Language and Francophone Studies from Oberlin College in Ohio and earned her teaching credential through the University of California, Irvine.
Passionate about community building, Micol spends much of her free time training capoeira, a Brazilian martial art, working in school and community gardens, and sharing her stories with her students and at live, story-telling events. She loves being at an arts school where she feels right at home integrating all the things she loves into her classroom and working with all the talented staff at Eliot.
